What is this beach beast?
The carcass of a mysterious creature with pointy teeth and sharp claws has been washed up on a California beach, leaving residents baffled about the identity of the animal.
The hairless creature is brownish in color and was found near a drain washout on a Santa Barbara beach after the latest storm. No other similar creature was found in the area.
KEYT Senior Reporter John Palminteri stumbled upon this creature and snapped photos of it, then posted them online for his audience to perhaps identify it. But nobody has been able to identify what species of animal it is.
Although to many, it just looks like a decomposed seal, some have speculated it could have been roaming the Earth 65million years ago.
One local said: "It looks like a combination of a dog and a seal."
Another added: "To me it looks like the remnants of a dinosaur."
Others thought it may be a bear, while some believe it is an American badger with its hair removed – but this has not yet been confirmed.
